Naturally sweet and silky; an excellent first purée that freezes beautifully.
Ingredients
- 1 medium sweet potato (about 10–12 oz)
- 2–4 tbsp breast milk, formula, or water (as needed)
Steps
- Heat oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash potato; pierce with a fork. Roast on a tray 40–50 min until very tender (or steam peeled chunks 12–15 min).
- Cool slightly, scoop out flesh (or use steamed chunks).
- Blend until smooth, adding liquid 1 tbsp at a time to desired consistency.
Tips
- For younger babies, aim for thinner consistency; thicken gradually as skills improve.
- Freeze in 1–2 oz portions; label with food and date.
