Sweet Potato Purée

Note: Offer this as a single-ingredient purée first. Introduce one new food at a time and consult your pediatrician.

Naturally sweet and silky; an excellent first purée that freezes beautifully.

Steps

  1. Heat oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash potato; pierce with a fork. Roast on a tray 40–50 min until very tender (or steam peeled chunks 12–15 min).
  2. Cool slightly, scoop out flesh (or use steamed chunks).
  3. Blend until smooth, adding liquid 1 tbsp at a time to desired consistency.
